________

ISAEVA SET is a pair of classic mittens and a matching balaclava, designed to keep you warm with effortless elegance.

Both pieces are knitted bottom up with a folded edge for structure. The balaclava features a smooth stockinette body, shaped face opening, and an i-cord threaded through the edge. The mittens mirror the same construction with a neat thumb opening and softly rounded tip, all finished seamlessly with Kitchener stitch.

Difficulty: 2 out of 3

Balaclava: Onesize

Mitten sizes: 1 (2)

Hand circumference: 17-19 cm (19-22 cm)

The hand circumference is measured just above the knuckles. The model in the picture measures 18 cm around the knuckles and is wearing mittens in size 1.

Yarn: 1 strand Cashmere Light (25 g = 85 m) by Lang Yarns or 1 strand Heavy Merino (50 g = 125 m) held together with 1 strand Soft Silk Mohair (25 g = 225 m), both by Knitting For Olive.

Amount: 175 g of Cashmere Light (100 g for the balaclava, 75 g for the mittens) or

150 g Heavy Merino and 50 g Soft Silk Mohair (100 g Heavy Merino and 35 g Soft Silk Mohair for the balaclava, 50 g Heavy Merino and 15 g Soft Silk Mohair for the mittens).

The darker sample is knitted in Cashmere Light in colour 39. The lighter sample is knitted Heavy Merino in colour Marzipan and Soft Silk Mohair in colour Cream.

Gauge: 17 stitches and 21 rows in stockinette on needle 6 mm equals 10 cm in width and 10 cm in height after blocking.

It is important to achieve the correct knitting tension. If you have fewer stitches per 10 cm, go down one needle size. If you have more stitches per 10 cm, go up a needle size.
