Tind Sweater (EN)
This is a digital pattern, which is to be downloaded through the link in your email after purchase.
________
TIND SWEATER is a raglan sweater with colourwork repeated throughout the entire sweater. The sweater is worked from the top down.
The back yoke is shaped with neckline increases to create a comfortable fit while maintaining clean colourwork. The yoke is shaped with raglan increases before dividing for body and sleeves. Both body and sleeves are worked straight in stockinette without decreases. The neckline is picked up and worked in 1x1 rib.
Difficulty: 2 out of 3
Sizes: 1 (2) 3 (4) 5 (6)
Sweater circumference: 85 (95) 105 (115) 125 (135) cm
Length: 57 (58) 59 (60) 61 (62) cm
The sweater has a recommended positive ease of 0-10 cm. Measure yourself around the chest to determine your size.
Yarn: 1 strand fingering-yarn (about 50g = 250m) held together with 1 strand lace-yarn (about 25g = 210m)
or 1 strand DK-yarn (about 50g = 125m).
Amount: Base colour: 150g fingering-yarn and 75g lace-yarn
or 300g DK-yarn.
Contrast colour: 100g fingering-yarn and 50g lace-yarn
or 200g DK-yarn.
One chart repeat on the body for the contrast colour uses approx. 5 g fingering-weight yarn and 2 g lace-weight yarn, or 7 g DK yarn. The same amount is required for one chart repeat across both sleeves.
Gauge: 24 stitches and 28 rows in stockinette stitch on needle 4 mm equals 10 cm in width and 10 cm in height after blocking.
It is important to achieve the correct knitting tension for the sweater to fit right. If you have fewer stitches per 10 cm, go down one needle size. If you have more stitches per 10 cm, go up a needle size.
Needles: 4 mm circular needle, 80 or 100 cm
Knit the sleeves using either double-pointed needles or the magic loop technique, depending on your preference.
