Syrup Sweater (EN)
This is a digital pattern, which is to be downloaded through the link in your email after purchase.
________
SYRUP SWEATER is the perfect blend of comfort and sophistication, stockinette and cables.
The sweater begins with the back yoke, which is worked flat and shaped with subtle increases that flow into a charted pattern of knits, purls, and cables. From there, the front yokes are picked up at the shoulders, with increases worked to shape the neckline. Once the yokes are joined, the body is worked seamlessly in the round.
The sleeves are picked up and also knitted in the round, all finished neatly with ribbing at the hem and cuffs. Lastly, the neckline is picked up, worked, and folded in for a polished finish.
Difficulty: 3 out of 3
Sizes: 1 (2) 3 (4) 5 (6)
Bust circumference: 115 (124) 134 (143) 153 (163) cm
The sweater has a recommended positive ease of 23-40 cm. Measure yourself around the chest and thus determine your size.
The model in the picture measures 89 cm around the chest and is wearing the sweater in size 2, which gives a positive ease of 35 cm.
Yarn: Mellow by Ullen Yarns (50g = 125m) here.
Amount: 450 (500) 550 (600) 600 (650) g
The white sample is knitted in colour Vanilla. The beige sample is knitted in discontinued yarn.
Gauge: 23 stitches and 27 rows in stockinette on needle 4.5 mm equals 10 cm in width and 10 cm in height after blocking.
It is important to achieve the correct knitting tension for the sweater in order for it to fit right. If you have fewer stitches per 10 cm, go down a needle size. If you have more stitches per 10 cm, go up a needle size.
Needles: 4.5 mm circular needle, 60 or 80 cm long,
4 mm circular needle, 60 or 80 cm long
Knit the sleeves using either double-pointed needles or the magic loop technique, depending on your preference.
