________

ISAEVA PONCHO is a graceful, soft, and lightweight poncho that drapes effortlessly over the shoulders. Cozy yet breathable, it’s perfect for layering, and adds elegance to any outfit. It can also be worn two different ways for two different looks.

The poncho is worked from the top down in stockinette. A few rounds are worked before creating a folded edge, with an optional opening for an i-cord band. The main body is then worked in the round with increases. The poncho is finished with a folded edge.

Difficulty: 1 out of 3

Sizes: One size

Length: 60 cm

The poncho has a loose fit and is designed for a bust circumference of 75-120 cm.

Yarn: 1 strand Cashmere Light (25 g = 85 m) by Lang Yarns. 375 g.

or

1 strand Heavy Merino (50 g = 125 m) and 1 strand Soft Silk Mohair (25 g = 225 m) held together, both by Knitting For Olive. 500 g and 150 g, respectively.

The sample is knitted in Cashmere Light in colour 39.

Gauge: 17 stitches and 20 rows in stockinette stitch on needle 6 mm equals 10 cm in width and 10 cm in height after blocking.

It is important to achieve the correct knitting tension for the poncho in order for it to fit right. If you have fewer stitches per 10 cm, you might have to go down a needle size. If you have more stitches per 10 cm, you might have to go up a needle size in order to meet the proper gauge.

Needles: 6 mm circular needles, 80 or 100 cm long,

5.5 mm circular needles, 80 or 100 cm long

Knit the sleeves using either double-pointed needles or the magic loop technique, depending on your preference.
